Many people have influenced my life, fortunately, most of them have been positive and have been good influences. Also, when I have crossed paths with people that I have felt are negative for my life, I simply walk away from them. I have had many family and friends who have also inspired me to improve every day, but the most influential people in my life have been my parents. I have been instilled with values, education, and respect and have been taught to work every day to earn a living. Fortunately, they have guided me on the right path. Thanks to them, I am the person that I have become and I am lucky to have them in my life.

First, the qualities that I admire from my parents is how hard they have worked. They have always been responsible people, and they have worked hard, so that my five brothers and I can move forward. I remember that my father got up at 4 in the morning to go to work in the fields, and he returned very late and tired. He is a man who has worked hard to support his family. My mother also got up early to prepare lunch for my father to take to work. After she took care of my brothers and me, she fed us and took us to school. Although at the end of the day they were tired, they always had time to share with us.

Second, the important thing that my parents gave me was education. My parents always taught me that education is the most important thing to be successful in life since it will open more doors for us in the future. My parents were always supporting me with my school, and they encouraged me to follow my dreams. They always made an effort to pay for my University advising me that I need to be a good student, and I tried to do things as best as possible. My parents made me see that without study it is more difficult to get good jobs and that things were not so easy. Even when my parents did not have a university degree, they always worked hard to give the family a better life. If my parents had not trusted me, I would not have finished my studies. Each day of my life, I appreciate and value the education they gave me and how they were important in this process.

Third, for my parents, the family union was always important. Even the family union is important for me and my whole family since it gives us peace and happiness. My parents always taught me that family will always be the most important thing in my life. Even if my family and I have problems or misunderstandings, we will always be united as a family and our bond will never break. A great example is that when the whole family gathers together, my parents, brothers, and I sit together to eat and talk about anything. We share how our days went, and what plans we have in the short or long term. Also, on every important event like Christmas, we get together and have dinner. My parents are my best example to follow; as a result, I can share these values with my daughters.

Then respect is an important value that my parents taught me since I was little. I have grown up with the teaching that I must respect others, so it is one of the most important values in my life. Throughout my life I have learned many valuable life lessons because my parents have given me the best example. I have always seen how my parents have been able to listen to what other people have to say respecting each other’s point of view. Respect also allowed me to see qualities in people and have a more open mentality. I always listen to my friends and family’s opinions and criticisms. Sometimes, I do not agree with their opinions, but I respect them. Respect has earned me the trust of people, and I have received respect from them too.

Finally, my parents will not be the richest people in the world, but they are the best parents in my life. They have influenced me to realize that no matter how difficult life is we must face and accept the trials and obstacles of life. As long as we are not afraid to overcome the trials and obstacles of life, our lives will be successful and meaningful. My parents have also influenced me that good education, respect and family will make my life successful instead of a superficial life. I am proud of my parents who have influenced my life to be the person I am today. My parents are and will always be the most influential people in my life.
