Today’s life, an era in which politics is the fad. Our freedom is at an all time high. People from all over the country are putting in ideas and verbal disputes of what they want equality to look like. Different political groups are wanting to change or fix America’s structures like education, women’s equality, and the environment. Fifty years ago, in the 1970’s, history and political dilemmas were different and has made an influence on today’s society and has shaped what society looks like now.

In this state of time, education is one of the most important parts to our nation. Our society has built a high expectation to finishing school and puts pressure on attending college. Now, requirements are a lot stern and dropping out is a lot harder to do. These requirements help keep students in order and help them stay dedicated to finishing high school and preparing for a future. Two major controversies that education is facing today is technology and standardized testing. Some believe technology is a gateway to cheating and laziness and is a distraction for students. The negative most people seem to find with standardized testing is that it tests only a small portion of a students learning capabilities. Education in America is currently worked on being fixed and new ideas on how to reconstruct testing is presented daily and teachers are finding ways to better control technology.

Education 50 years ago prioritized learning using books. The lack of technology made learning much more difficult however prevented cheating and held students responsible. However, the schools’s were less strict and made dropping out a lot easier. A website known as Child Trends states, “The proportion of youth and young adults residing in the United States who have dropped out of high school has declined from 1970 to 2016: from 15 to 16 percent.” Dropping out of high school was much easier in the 1970’s.

Another debate in today’s world is based off women’s equality. It is a constant discussion and is now presented in news, protests, movies, and dignitary outlets. Feminism is a big political group spreading in today’s society. The dictionary definition for feminism is “The advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.” Our society is currently at a battle of balancing out the right’s for women. Some women, and some men, are fighting for women to have equal rights in things like jobs, sports, and educational opportunities. Protests and social advocating constantly happens in big cities all over America.

The 1950s through the 1980s is when feminism and women’s rights really started to become a huge thing. Social media outlets were constantly used to help women advocate and make society aware of how to recognize women. The CNN website states, “On Aug. 26, 1970, a full 50 years after the passage of the 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote, 50,000 feminists paraded down New York City’s Fifth Avenue with linked arms, blocking the major thoroughfare during rush hour. Now, 45 years later, the legacy of that day continues to evolve.

Officially sponsored by the National Organization for Women (NOW), the Women’s Strike for Equality March was the brainchild of Betty Friedan, who wanted an “action” that would show the American media the scope and power of second-wave feminism.”

The structure for women rights is still in motion and has been since the 1840s. Women are working on being treated equally and having the same rights as men in America. A lot of public protests are located in California and Washington to advocate.

Women’s rights are the essential human rights that have been enshrined via the United Nations for every human being on the planet nearly 70 years ago. These rights include the right to live loose from violence, slavery, and discrimination; to be educated; to personal property; to vote; and to earn a honest and equal wage.

Winning rights for girls is about greater than giving possibilities to any person female or girl; it is also about changing how nations and communities work. It involves converting laws and policies, triumphing hearts and minds, and investing in strong ladies’s corporations and movements.

Global Funds for Women exists to assist the tireless and brave efforts of ladies’s organizations who work each day to win rights for ladies and women. These businesses are running to ensure ladies can personal property, vote, run for office, get paid fair wages, and live unfastened from violence – including home violence.

Technology also takes a part in the history of America over the past 50 years. In the middle of the last Century, it experienced a good discovery with the introduction of television, allowing the widespread visual transmission of political information, photos, motion pictures, video recordings and other static or live images. Since political thought and communication contains a minimum of some proportion of emotion, the appearance of television, permitting the delivery of emotional and factual political content to each point the globe, revolutionized political interaction among humans.
