There are many reasons why we have to test cures on animals before we use them on people. One reason why we have to is, it’s safer than immediately testing the cures on people. A different reason is that scientist don’t understand human biology and they don’t want to risk anyone dying. There are many differences between animal rights and medical research, many animal rights activist believe animals shouldn’t be tested on even if it’s to cure disease.

We use animals because animals are used to gain an understanding of some cell structure and some physiological and pathological processes. Even though animals physiology doesn’t mimic ours identically, they act as “models” when it comes to studying human disease. While alternate techniques can’t always reproduce the complexity of a living creature. Scientist only fund animals if there is no other alternative research technique. There have been many advances in this area and replacements for animal models are being built and made all the time! Animals are classified as property and are used exclusively as resources for humans.

You may be thinking, “What? I don’t!”. Which is probably true but it’s not always negative, like some people use their animals (pets) as a way to help them calm down or to talk to if you’re mad and nobody else will listen. You may not know this but most states today make at least some abuses of animals a felony. Did you know that Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophers debated the place of animals in human mortality? Also, scientist don’t understand human biology enough to risk using new medical treatments or surgical procedures directly on people.

Research is a quest to understand the unknown, the rate of progress varies a lot, Nearly everyone considers finding lifesaving cures through biomedical research to be one of humanity’s highest purposes. Also, did you know that fewer than 5% passed a validity screening for a highly respected evidence-based journal? Only 4% of interventions used in health care have strong evidence to support them. Evidence-based research is an ongoing and burgeoning field that has now become normal in today’s practice of medicine. The Animal Welfare Act was signed into law in 1966. It’s only the Federal Law that in the United States, that regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and dealers. This Act was enforced by USDA, APHIS, and Animal Care.

The rights of animals were claimed on ethical grounds, to the same humane treatment and protection from exploitation and abuse that are accorded to humans. It’s only the Federal Law that in the United States, that regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and dealers.

This Act was enforced by USDA, APHIS, and Animal Care. Many arguments urged respect for the interests of animals nearly disappeared, and animal welfare remained a relative backwater of philosophical inquiry and legal regulation until the final decades of the 20th century. The rights of animals were claimed on ethical grounds, to the same humane treatment and protection from exploitation and abuse that are accorded to humans. Also, ecological holism provides a critique of many human practices that are devastating to animals-from habitat destruction to the polluting and carbon-generating excess of factory farming.

Did you know that in 2008 California Proposition 2 referendum- in which 63%of voters chose and supported to ban the use of gestation crates for pigs, veal crates, and battery cages which is just one of many recent examples where activist have managed to focus republic attention on the issue of animal welfare? Also, biomedical research encompasses a wide array of research extending from “basic research”, -involving fundamental scientific principles that may apply to a preclinical understanding- to clinical research, which involves studies of people who may be subject in clinical trials. Most the time when testing on animals it is relevant to a trip to the vet. Every now and then some animals do get hurt but most of the time none of the creatures are actually hurt. Some people do not treat the animals well just as some doctors do not treat their patient well or how some people who work at retirement homes don’t treat their patients correctly.

You may not realize but some animals used in these testings actually benefit from the tests. Animals like mice share the major biological systems as humans. Americans for Medical Progress believe that animals are living creatures that deserve to be treated with respect, care, and passion. This is a common belief that is also commonly shared by scientist and veterinary professionals across America’s research institutions who are focused on the well being of the animals in their charge. They work to ensure that each study involves skilled care of animals by laboratory medical professionals, provide appropriate housing, enrichment, and social groupings for all subject animals, establishes humane endpoints, and where possible, promotes the adoption of post-study animals.

It is very important to understand the tapestry of laws, regulations, and established practices in place that safeguard the welfare of research animals. In conclusion, it is safer to test on animals first, and that most subject animals aren’t hurt and it is like a trip to the vet. Animal welfare regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and dealers. Also, biomedical research encompasses a wide array of research extending from “basic research”. Most the time when testing on animals it is relevant to a trip to the vet. Every now and then some animals do get hurt but most of the time none of the creatures are actually hurt.
