The purpose of the report was monitoring the progress of hunger and undernourishment in the world and also questioning what the most crucial factor is and how to avoid the gradually deteriorating problems. Firstly, the ratio of hunger and undernourishment in the world had been collected from a few countries, however recently the data was from more countries who participated in the research on their own initiative. The data showed the tight connection between hunger and children which is if lots of children are suffering from malnutrition in a country, the result in the country might possess the higher probability of malnutrition in the future. It is like a vicious circle, because the more undernourished children are, the less competitive a country is. Therefore, each of countries who is struggling with poverty and hunger should create some policies to focus on children’s malnutrition in order to escape from the vicious circle. The validity of the data is more believable than before, because more countries have been willing to join the research, the sample size became larger. The research indicated the close relationship between addressing children’s undernourished issue and preventing poverty and hunger of a country.

Nevertheless, practical ways and effective policies which could be utilized in the world are still not explicit. It only mentioned a solution called “Double-duty action” which was suggested by the WHO (World Health Organization) but it may be not truly useful and helpful, since it just said it was important to highlight the need of food, such as the hungry children should obtain nourisher and more sufficient food supply and overweight children should have healthier diet. However, the solution did not refer how to evenly distribute food and nutrition and balance the need of food in the world.

Hence, the research articulated the key cause of hunger and undernourishment but still need to come up with some constructive solutions. In the beginning, I have never thought about the linkage of hunger and children but the research renewed my thought which inspired me to focus on another perspective to ponder what can people do for reducing children’s hunger problem and prevent food and nutrition waste from overweight children. The global food supply chain how to achieve the fairer food supply so that food and nutrition could be used more efficiently. The author showed the data which was in each year, on third food was wasted in worldwide food produce processing, hence the purpose of the article was to clarify some solutions which can solve the problem of severe food loss. The article mentioned lots of cases which were happened in three Swedish supply chain.

Firstly, the author utilized the induction to find the factors of causing food waste. Secondly, the data were collected from the interviews and site-visit. Lastly, through analyzing the raw data and then concluded the most propriate solutions. The finding was each solution is tightly connected and it indicated when people supply these solutions, they should aware of the coordination between every solution. The cases were from many different types of food, such as vegetable, meat, fruit and shelf-stable food. Undoubtedly, I consider it was including all kinds of food, thereby it is comprehensive and completed to evaluate the various causes of food loss. However, the samples were only conducted in Sweden, it restricted the results of the solutions, since the solutions might work well in Sweden, but how about other countries is still a question and it might require more successful real-case in other countries to enhance the credibility.

Nevertheless, it cannot be denied the value of the paper, the solutions are reasonable and logical so that it still helped me to generate some new ideas and digest the useful information from the article. The article provided me a new idea about the solution of make-to-order. Traditionally, people can order some customized products (i.e. birthday cakes with special photos or phrases), however, the make-to-order also supply to fresh poultry in one of wholesaler, so it extended three more days of shelf-life days and increased the quality of service. The result of deriving the customers’ satisfaction. I think this solution should be taken further and researched whether it is feasible to other food styles in my paper.
